Las Vegas Takes The First World Santa Challenge Title!

The amazing team at Opportunity Village who deliver the Las Vegas Great Santa Run have just hosted a Press Conference on their Campus to announce their defence of the World Santa Challenge after winning it last year. The event was held for the first time in 2009 and the title was contested by Las Vegas, Liverpool and Tasmania.

The first challenge title went to the Great Santa Run in Las Vegas who attracted an amazing 8,868 participants who in turn raised a staggering $300,000 for Opportunity Village. At a Press Conference at O.V. Alan Rothwell, organiser of the Liverpool Santa Dash and Steve Martin from the Santa Run, Tasmania presented the World Santa Challenge trophy to Linda Smith who is Chief Development Officer at Opportunity Village.

“On behalf of everyone who took part in the Las Vegas Great Santa Run last year I am absolutely delighted to receive the World Santa Challenge, especially in the first year! This was an awesome victory in the face of some great competition from our friends in Liverpool and Tasmania. Now the hard work begins to keep the title here as we are expecting a lot more Santa Fun Runs to compete this year.”
